Obama and Cuba

Found this cartoon by Zapiro. It will be interesting to see whether Barrack Obama would pull out from Guantanamo Bay. I don’t think he will since I very much doubt the political strings that comprise the United States executive would approve it. I do think, however, that you will begin to see greater dialogue between the two countries. I think that Obama is far more of an open-minded and balanced candidate, and I think he is less likely to be influenced by pragmaticism and world geopolitics than he is by his own convictions of fairness and equity in the world. I could of course be thinking rather naively, but I do think that the US finally has someone who might help to improve the image of the US abroad.
